This spell is only used by the most powerful mages and can only be
done with the proper words. One mistake can be disasterous. The
components are a lock of the spellcasters hair and a bit of the dragon
that matches their alignment, as they can only change into the dragon
that matches their alignment. Look under the different types of
dragons for the AL.
Once in this shape, the spell caster has all the magical and physical abilities of the dragon, but there are cons to this spell. Once there, there is a possibility that the mage could be trapped in dragon form for 3d6+4 days. There is a 20% chance that they are trapped in that form for 2d6 months. For every month the mage is trapped, then he must roll save vs. spell or begin to become that dragon in all its good or evil conscious, whichever the case may be. Otherwise.... the mage has all the abilities of that dragon and has all the hit points attributed to that dragon. He can fly, use the breath weapon and so on. One difference, he cannot discern between friends and enemies. On this he must figure out as a dragon of that alignment must do. If evil then he would figure out which opponent (?) would be more useful (the less useful could be his best friend and he would "breath" on him, burn him to a cinder, etc.) (LUNCH!) ;) But he does know that he is a mage (of whatever race) and that he can change back to original form, unless he is lost to the form of the dragon. If that is the case, then he will seek out the appropriate clime for his kind and live there until the spell has worn off. |
